BEHIND THE SCENES | #PrairiePizzazz What does 'Enchanted' mean to you?

This post is especially for our #PrairiePizzazz Curators! When we release a new theme for our Prairie Pizzazz Boxes we are always very thoughtful about how we can portray this into the products that we design for placement in each box. With our latest release of our Enchanted Edition Box for the autumn season this is of course no different. We wanted to originate a theme which played on the transition into this time of year, yet allowed us to put on own Prairie spin on proceedings. To us the word 'enchanted' conjures up images of magical forests, majestic animals, fairytales and the make-believe. We definitely wanted to capture this wonderment in not only the colours we have used for certain pieces but also the textures and feel of materials and fabrics we have chosen to use.

Below is a sneak peek at just a some of the pieces that we have designed for the Prairie Pizzazz Enchanted Edition. And with despatch of these boxes taking place at the end of this coming week we wanted to hear just what the word 'enchanted' specifically means to you, which we would love you to leave us in the comments below. The one that gives us the most inspiration will win a very special prize and will also inspire an additional piece that will feature in this box.

So... What does the word 'enchanted' mean to you?

Leave your answers in the comments below by Wednesday 28th October.

  1. To me the word enchanted means mystical and magical, it's a winter walk in the woods after a fresh, glistening snow fall, it's trip to DisneyLand surrounded by fantasy and fairytale, it's dressing up in glittery outfits with my nieces and it's the early morning beach sunrise over my favourite spot in my Cornish town!

  2. When I think of the word "enchanted" I think of forests underneath a bright sky full of stars and Magic. I imagine deers, foxes, rabbits and squirrels playing together with magical pixies, fairies and other the magical creatures of the night who live in hollows of trees. I think of wishes coming true, glitter, happiness, and mystery. It sounds like a save little haven!

  4. The word enchanted takes me back to childhood, a time when fairy tales were real and possibilities were endless. Back then, Halloween wasn't the only time when witches, monsters and princesses came to life. It could be any time of year as long as I believed hard enough. From time to time we find inspiration as adults and our lives become enchanted again, even if just for a moment.

  5. To me, the word enchanted means fantasia. Mickey Mouse in red robes and the iconic blue hat with silver stars and moon. It's one of the first disney films I ever saw so it'll always stick with me. It's full of magic, wonder and fantasy, with magic brooms, flying horses and centaurs. As well as a hippo doing ballet with a crocodile. Start to finish is truly enchanting.

  6. To me, the word "enchanted" means magical, spellbinding, mesmerizing, and captivating! I see images of sparkles and glitter in a fall and winter wonderland. Burgundy, purples, forest green, burnt oranges, gold, and silvers are colors I envision along with some rustic, antique decor!

  8. For me, enchanted means being somewhere a bit 'Alice in Wonderland' where nothing is quite as it seems. Things that should be small are big, things that shouldn't be real ARE! Colourful sparkling unicorns with majestic, multicoloured manes. Fairies with their red and white toadstools coming to life! A magical, bubbling feeling that anything could happen - even dreams could come true! (oh, and LOTS of glitter!!)

  9. To me, enchanted is like a spin on reality, making it whatever you want it to be. For example it could be your ideal fairytale Kingdom full of handsome princes (or princesses!) or it could be finding the enchanting beauty in everyday things- the light of the sun streaming down through the trees in a forest, birdsong on a walk to work, the reflection of a rainbow in a puddle on rainy day. For me, enchanted is about finding the magic in those everyday moments.

  10. I'm so excited, the sneak peeks look amazing! You guys always pull out all the stops for your customers, I can't wait for this box to arrive. Regarding the word 'Enchanted' what initially comes to mind is the song 'Enchanted' by Taylor Swift, I used to really like this song when I was younger. As the song progresses Taylor describes the feelings of being in love with somebody for the first time, you know the love you think you have during your teenage years and how exciting that feeling is as it's something you've never felt before. As Taylor describes it's simply quite 'enchanting' when you're young and you meet someone and at the time you feel like they are the best thing since sliced bread, haha! Therefore with regards to this months box I'd personally expect to feel rather in awe and almost wonderstruck by the contents inside. The feeling of enchantment definitely invokes a sense of magic and mysticism therefore to me the box should make a person relive the moment when they open something on christmas morning that they didn't ask for and didn't expect and it turns out to be the best present ever, simply due to the element of surprise.

  11. Enchanted, "put a spell on you" by Nina Simone springs to mind. To be completely in awe and in love with someone to the extent that they are your world and you would do anything for them. My better other half =)

  12. Enchanted means "a world filled with magic and wonder, where dreams come to life and wishes are granted, where being yourself isnt judged and all you feel is love, warmth and happiness" thats what it means to me =]

  13. When I was younger enchanted to me was disney. It was princesses and unicorns and everything that those films would give to me. Now though, as I am technically a grown up. I would say enchanted is more of a feeling that I try and bring into my life to help me when I am feeling down. Its having fairy lights around my bed to make my bedroom a little haven for relaxing. Its lighting candles to give off a glow. Its wearing my wedding tiara just because. We all need a little enchantment in our lives :)

  14. To me "enchanted" conjurs up happy memories as a child spent reading Enid Blyton books and getting lost in their magical and mysterious pages. She managed to capture the imagination and whilst I was reading about the Faraway Tree and all the magical characters, I was able to live in that moment where magic was possible and fairies and wishing chairs could exist. There is nothing more powerful than giving a child the belief that anything can be possible, if you just believe in it.

  15. Enchanted to me means many different things. It means childhood, it means magic and spellbinding. It reminds me of dreams and daydreams where nothing is too big, anything is possible. It also means love, where you are enchanted by somebody whether family, a friend or parent.
Enchanted to me reminds me that limits do not exist.
